It’s been a couple of days, but that is because not a lot happened yesterday. Well, not a lot if you discount the fact that I went up to the A.J.Hacket bungee jump site and basically said “Sod that”. Oh! And then there was the little problem of picking up the car keys instead of the apartment keys when we went out to get an ice-cream after a BBQ.
Yep, not a lot really. The flaw in renting someone’s apartment is that if the complex manager is unable to wake up when you ring their three phones, or ring the doorbell, or bang the door so their Alsatian is barking its head off, well, in a nutshell you are goosed.
Try finding somewhere to stay around here for less than £200 a night. LoL No chance. We drove to Cairns looking for a Motel that had vacancies and gave up at 01:00hrs. I drove back and left Lucy sleeping in the car (I am sure she hated me by then) while I went and attacked our door with a credit card…….we were in our bed by 01:30hrs. Bloody good I am. ;)
Today was another lazy day. We booked a trip up to Kuranda. (http://www.ksr.com.au/) This is a village high up in the Rainforest. The ascent was done by cable car with the odd “Oh my God” moments, as we cleared the top of one huge peak only to go straight across the valley to the next.
The views were once again breathtaking. We had lunch in Kuranda and I tried out the local crocodile sausages. Yum yum. A bit greasy, but nice. Lucy heard it tasted just like chicken so she had chicken.
The descent was done by train.
This line has a lot of history, having been built in the late 19th century and is well worth reading about. It’s also pretty damned scary with sheer drops on the left.
Lucy cursed me several times and lay down on the seat so she couldn’t see the drop.

I took loads of pictures and video.
Got home about 5pm and booked a tandem sky dive for tomorrow. I get picked up at 10am and drive to Cairns where I jump 14,000 feet around there somewhere. Its not a beach landing, but who cares. Once I actually do the jumping outta the door bit, nothing matters. :) Doubt very much that I will sleep tonight as I am very nervous about it. We did manage to eat a lovely meal at a place called Vivo though. Anyway, let’s just hope I am able to write the blog tomorrow, if not I am sure Lucy will.
Is Lucy doing the Sky Diving as well then? Is it the one were you land on the beach at Cape Tribulation?
